'Ernest E. Just, internationally renowned Biologist and pioneer of cell division, was born in Charleston, SC, on this date August 14, 1883. Just went on to graduate magna cum laude from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. He won special honors in Zoology, and distinguished himself in Botany, history, and sociology as well. In 1912, he became head of the Department of Zoology at Howard University and held that position for 29 years.'
