CARTER™ Magazine Mission: Our mission is to transform media by inspiring young people to be the voice that bridges and shapes history and hip-hop culture. The name CARTER pays homage to Dr. Carter G. Woodson, historian, author, journalist and Founder of Black History Month. But in essence of bridging that gap we salute all the Carters in the above image for their impact in history and hip-hop.
About Us: CARTER Magazine is an online publication cultivated by young people where history and hip-hop meet. We believe that in order to close the generational gap stories and images must be told that pay homage, promote upcoming stars, are engaging, educational and create culture. CARTER dedicates its time to foster the skills of tomorrow’s stars as we bring an unprecedented originality and diversity to urban news and evolving world of hip-hop.
CARTER positions itself to give youth a more educational alternative to media publication that promotes confidence and self worth while developing character.
SOCIAL BUSINESS: CARTER™ Magazine is a Social Business, a non-loss, non-dividend company designed to address a social objective.
Vision: CARTER Magazine is the change you wish to see. We are the solution to the problem of: disengaged youth, generational disconnectedness, lack of history as an asset and solely negative display in hip-hop culture.
We exist simply to re-define and re-imagine what society thought hip-hop could contribute to. CARTER raises the bar of what happens when young people and adults collaborate and collectively contribute to something they are passionate about.
