CARTER™ Magazine is a social business that uses media as an educational tool.

Our mission is to transform media by inspiring young people to be the voice that bridges history and shapes hip-hop culture. The name CARTER pays homage to Dr. Carter G. Woodson, historian, author, journalist and Founder of Black History Month.

CARTER Magazine is the change you wish to see. We are the solution to the problems of: disengaged youth, generational disconnectedness, underutilized history and negative imaging of hip-hop culture.

We exist simply to re-define and re-imagine what hip-hop was expected to contribute to empowering society. CARTER raises the bar of what happens when young people collectively and effectively collaborate with adults.

“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” - Nelson Mandela
